HELP SUPPORT COMMUNITY RADIO IN SELKIRK!

BIG FM (Interlake Broadcast Group) is a not-for-profit organization. The funds the station generates through advertising, donations, sponsorship, and other charitable sources allow the station to provide community broadcasting of amateur hockey and other local community events without incurring any debt. Your continued support of this project is very much appreciated!

The research has been on going since April 2002.  We hope to be on the air soon in Selkirk, with your support, we can make that happen. Check out our progress so far:

YOU'LL HAVE A SAY ...

Community radio depends on the members in the community in regards to programming offered.

In fact, those individuals that become yearly members of the radio station will have the opportunity to produce their own radio shows.

It's a chance for local radio to have importance in the community again.

FINALLY, SELKIRK WILL HAVE A RADIO STATION TO CALL OUR OWN!

Our Goal

From the beginning, we've wanted this to be beneficial to the people of Selkirk.  Community radio is just that ... community!  Much of the content heard will come from members of the community ... members of Selkirk's Communty Radio Station.

News, Sports, Weather and Entertainment will key on Selkirk as its priority.

Selkirk Steelers and Selkirk Fisherman Junior Hockey teams will find a home on local radio, along with our fantastic high school teams and athletes.

Get ready, it's gonna be exciting!

In the early stages a group was formed to research the possibility of returning local radio to the City of Selkirk; one of the few cities its size in Canada, not to have its own radio station.

Headed by Ray Walker, a long time Manitoba broadcaster ... Interlake Broadcast Group has a passion and desire to deliver local, informative, and entertaining radio to a region that is NOT serviced at present.

Unfortunately, Winnipeg radio stations can not cater to the local market as a community radio station could.

IT'S TIME THAT SELKIRK HAD A RADIO STATION TO CALL OUR OWN!
