Bio and Stuff ... Gonna rain again?

This is a great place to give you more details about me, as the Webmaster.

Most of my professional life has been in (or around) the broadcasting industry.  Accomplishments include; a perfect performance record with the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC is Canada's regulatory broadcsting body), commendations from several charity & non-profit organizations for volunteer and numerous fund-raising efforts, achieved the highest broadcast ratings of any radio program in Brandon Manitoba, and, spent the longest day in radio on-air during the "Senate Radio Marathon" in October 1990 (86.5 hours on-air), we should have called the record books.

It is with this passion for the radio industry and the community of Selkirk, that I intend to project when we are granted a license to broadcast.

Please send me your thoughts on the community radio project, after all, once live, it'll belong to you too!

The Master Plan

Depending on the actual date we are able to file the license application with the CTRC - it is usually a 6 to 9 month window before an approval is granted.  We expect to file this fall.

The station's dial position will be established with the completed CRTC (Industry Canada) application.

It is my intention that we begin broadcasting as soon as possible.

This will accomplished by developing an internet radio station with streaming audio.  As our business name reflects (Interlake Broadcast Group), those letters will be in our official call sign CIBG-FM - the station web site and station name will be BIG-FM.

The on-line home of our station will be www.bigfm.ca.

Music, Shows, Etc.

While I'd like to just "spill the beans" right now, I'm going to keep that a surprise.

Know this however; in the morning when you wake up to go to work, and in the afternoon when you drive home you'll hear great songs that will appeal to all ages.  Daytime hours will be reserved for community programming, and night time will be reserved for Selkirk's sports teams.
